Biography
Pauline Ruth Andrus, age 85, of Dover, DE died peacefully on Wednesday, May 16, 2012.
Born on May 6, 1927 in Churchville, MD, Mrs. Andrus was the daughter of the late Ruth C. and Treely N. Moxley.
She was a graduate of Bel Air (MD) High School and the University Of Maryland School Of Nursing. She worked for several years as a registered nurse before beginning a career in nursing education. She taught for 25 years in the nursing program at Kent County Vocational-Technical School (now Polytech High School), retiring in 1990. Pauline continued as an active substitute teacher for ten years following her retirement. She was an avid reader and loved to travel with her friends.
In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by a brother, Bert Moxley, of Fresno, CA.
She is survived by a son, Michael R. Andrus and his wife, Sherry, of Dallas, TX, a daughter, Kathleen R. Andrus and her husband, Gary Traynor, of Dover, DE, four grandchildren, Janna Hanson (Zach), Jonathan Lust, Carly Andrus and Michael R. Andrus II, five step-grandchildren, Laura Johnson, Erin Traynor, Elysse Williamson, Juliana Williamson, and Daniel Williamson, and two great-grandchildren, Addison and Zach Hanson.
Services will be private.
