September 24, 1957 - June 2, 2010

Bernard W. Wales of Hartly passed away Wednesday June 2, 2010 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 52.

He was born September 24, 1957 in Easton, Maryland to the late William and Virginia Wales.

Bernie had served in the United States Army for 6 years. He retired from the City of Dover in 2007. Bernie also worked part time at Ace Hardware. He had a passion for country music, playing in his current band “South Bound” with special friends, Jim Williams, Butch Jewell and Debbie Baldwin and several other country bands throughout the years. Bernie was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Cheswold Fire Department. He had attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Marydel.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Maryann J. Beck.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Linda A. Wales of Hartly; two daughters, Stephanie M. Adams and her husband Isiah of Germany, Jennifer L. Hunter and her husband Charles of Hartly; his son, Michael Deneumoustier and his significant other Ericca of Dover; his brothers, Bill Wales and his wife Eshter of Clayton, Jerry Wales and his wife Stephanie of Bowers; his sister, Madeline Collins and her husband Dennis of Smyrna and grandchildren Noah and Lexus Deneumoustier of Dover, Kylla and Frank-Frank Henry of Dover, Erika and Kaitlyn Adams of Germany, and a host of neices, newphews and many other loving family memebers.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Tuesday June 8, 2010 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 7-9 Monday evening. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford De, 19934 and/or Cheswold Vol. Fire Co.
